The MQ-7 Sensor Module is a semiconductor gas sensor designed to detect carbon monoxide (CO) in the air. It provides both analog and digital outputs, making it suitable for carbon monoxide monitoring, industrial safety systems, air quality monitoring, and IoT applications.

The MQ-7 Sensor Module uses a tin dioxide (SnO₂) sensing element with high sensitivity to carbon monoxide (CO). The module incorporates an onboard comparator IC and an adjustable potentiometer, allowing users to configure the digital output threshold based on the desired gas concentration. The analog output provides continuous sensor readings for monitoring CO levels.

The MQ-7 is widely used in carbon monoxide detectors, industrial safety equipment, indoor air quality monitoring, smart home systems, automotive exhaust monitoring, and embedded IoT projects. It is compatible with Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi (with an ADC), and other microcontroller platforms. The sensor requires a heating cycle and warm-up period before delivering stable and accurate measurements.
