The MQ-6 Sensor Module is a semiconductor gas sensor designed for detecting LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), propane, and butane. It provides both analog and digital outputs, making it ideal for gas leak detection, industrial safety systems, and smart home applications.

The MQ-6 Sensor Module features a tin dioxide (SnO₂) gas sensing element that exhibits high sensitivity to LPG, propane, and butane while maintaining low sensitivity to alcohol and smoke. The module includes an onboard comparator IC and an adjustable potentiometer, allowing users to set a custom gas detection threshold for the digital output. The analog output provides continuous gas concentration readings for more precise monitoring.

This sensor is widely used in domestic gas leak alarms, industrial gas monitoring systems, smart home automation, safety equipment, and IoT projects. It is compatible with Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi (with an ADC), and other popular microcontroller platforms. For accurate and stable readings, the sensor should be preheated before use.
