The KeyesIR Infrared Obstacle Sensor Module is a compact IR-based proximity detection module designed to detect objects and obstacles without physical contact. It is suitable for robotics, line-following robots, automation, and Arduino-based projects.
This module uses an infrared transmitter and receiver to detect reflected infrared light from nearby objects. An onboard LM393 comparator processes the sensor signal and provides a digital output that can be directly connected to a microcontroller.
The module includes adjustable potentiometers for setting the detection threshold/sensitivity. It operates from a low-voltage DC supply and can interface with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi and other development boards.
The module is particularly useful for obstacle avoidance robots, object detection, edge/line detection and simple automation applications. Typical versions of this module provide an adjustable detection range of approximately 2–30 cm.
