The HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor Module is a passive infrared (PIR) sensor designed to detect human or animal movement by sensing changes in infrared radiation. It is widely used in security systems, automatic lighting, home automation, robotics, and IoT applications.
The HC-SR501 PIR Motion Sensor Module uses a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to detect motion by monitoring changes in the infrared energy emitted by people and animals. It features a Fresnel lens that increases the detection area and two onboard potentiometers for adjusting sensitivity (detection range) and output delay time.
The module provides a digital HIGH output when motion is detected and automatically returns to LOW after the configured delay. It supports Repeatable (H) and Non-repeatable (L) trigger modes, making it suitable for a variety of automation projects.
The HC-SR501 is compatible with Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and other microcontroller platforms, making it ideal for burglar alarms, automatic doors, occupancy detection, smart lighting, and energy-saving systems.
